After planning a homecoming surprise in Hilton Head for two weeks, it was a success!
Matt told my parents that he was not going to be home Thursday as he normally would and would be home that Friday instead. He ended up coming with Callie (his girlfriend) to us Thursday and spent the night, and made the trip home Friday.
It was planned we would go to Curits’ mom’s first. He had called her and said someone would be coming by to look at his kayaks. When we got there he knocked on the garage door. She answered hi and took a double take and realized it was Curtis! Success! A few tears shed, all was good, and he spent the day with her.
Next was my mom. We drove over to her work while I called her on the phone. We drove by (with my mom saying I think Matt just drove by) as we parked. Matt and Callie went inside and made small talk as I continued to talk to her on the phone. We were making small talk about how I was thinking to come visit at the end of May. As we were on the phone I walked in to the store and when she realized that I had just walked in but yet I was talking to her on the phone. She broke out in tears, threw her phone across the counter and ran over to me. Success!
So for now we have been spending time with my brother, Callie, and both our parents. It has been great spending time with the family for a change and making our rounds to do things that we need to get done. Although there is never enough time to see everyone we would like to, there will always be next time. So if we don’t get to see you while we are home I apologize, but there is always next time.

Love this — glad it worked out so well and everyone was surprised and you had a great visit HOME.
Aww, what a sweet surprise! If Gia ever surprises me like that I will cry too! Nothing like a mother’s love! <3 hugs to you both!
