For the last week we have hunkered down and secluded ourselves on Papillon working sun up to sun down on Morning Sock. It has been warm holding around 85 degrees everyday with winds ranging from 10-20 mph. Makes for a nice rocking movement on the boat, especially nice at night just slowly rocking us to sleep. So today we woke up from a rather sleepless night, reasons we don’t even know, but feel it is from our long hours constantly on the boat. Working and sleeping in the same spot with only a once a day trip to land to shower.
So as we woke up with sheer exhaustion we decided to take the day kind of off. First up was gathering everything for land including shower supplies, post office outgoing mail and supplies to make a repair on the dinghy.
So the day is young and we will finish up with a trip to Fresh Market and get some food and head home later this afternoon.
Right now the big debate aboard is where to go at the end of the March when our time is up here at Dinner Key. Our options right now are anywhere, but have debated the Bahamas, Marathon, Naples, Ft. lauderdale, or even heading more north to St Augustine.
Any suggestions for chap dock rent or free anchorages to hide out at for the summer? Would love any suggestions anyone may have.
