In the world of design which is my entire life and lively hood, there is one event that always demands the most attention. That would be the Super Bowl. No, I am not a sports far whatsoever but I am a diehard commercial fan, after all this is my business. There is no other time that I know of that draws so many people’s attention for advertising or costs as much per second as the super bowl. I couldn’t tell you who was playing, nor do I care (don’t hate) but I would tell you I am going to pay all attention to everything but the people running across the field in tight spandex.
I did not sit in front of a tv screen while people shout and scream and the drunk craziness of a crowed bar. I instead use this amazing internet to see everything I wanted to. I have to say that I am more impressed with the half time show with Madonna that I would have guess I would. Madonna being 50+ was very amazing, and must be making some serous bank. This half time has to be the best I have seen in a log time as far as the half time shows go, although the flashing from Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson was pretty good for publicity standpoint.
Ok I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with this half time show. Best I have seen in a long time.
Four Observations of 2012 Super Bowl:
1. How much did Madonna make from this?
2. How much is she worth now?
3. How much did the whole half time cost to put on including props, costumes, stage, lighting, etc.?
4. How much did Vogue pay to be marketed that big during half time?
No wonder the commercials paid on average $3.5 million for a 30 seconds of air space. When your audience is over 111 million people it will come at a cost but should lead a good return on investment.
What are your thoughts on half time? Which was your favorite commercial? Was it on the list of the top 10? If not comment with a link to your favorite so we can see.
